Gabon is right in the core of the "Bassin du Congo", the second largest pristine tropical rainforest ecosystem in the world (second after the Amazonia). It is litterally the second lung of the planet. There fore the Lung of Africa. The national question is therefore:
how to lead the ecological Renaissance of the World in preserving this unique asset (enjoy a quick snapshot here) ?
Through Space (at Large) !
One of the goals of the recently launched Gabonese Earth Observation Agency (AGEOS) Program is to set up a regional centre for satellite data acquisition and analysis with the aim to monitor the evolution of the entire "Bassin du Congo-Ogooue", our lung.
A core vision for us is therefore to explore all the possibilities to systematically couple Astronomy & Space Sciences promotion with initiatives related to the preservation of our unique Planet from Gabon & AFRICA.
Our message : Yes, Astronomy & Space Sciences can save our unique Planet and it's Fun ! What are your thoughts and how can we act together ?
